Spot the nest.
This picture shows you how well hidden the nest is. Also it is high up and in a very spiky shrub so we hope the chicks will be safe from cats or other predators like magpies. Well done, Sybil, for choosing such a good place for the nest.
Oops!
We misled you earlier (in the post called "Is something going on?" on Monday 19th April). Where it says Sybil isn't sitting on the nest it is because it wasn't Sybil. It was Basil and Basil never sits on the nest!
We thought that this was our very first sighting of Basil - just before the chicks started to hatch - but then we realised that the picture on 17th April is Basil too. You can tell by the yellow rings round his eyes.

They are hatching!!!!!!!!!!
The eggs are hatching! Mum saw via the nestcam that Sybil wasn't on the nest so I had a look and suprise suprise; one was hatching! This picture was taken with a mobile phone, but we will try to move the nestcam to get a view of the eggs later. By Patrick.
Please Help!!
Patrick and I are back at school now, so might miss some good pictures of Sybil and her nest. If you see any good pictures, please send them in to us via the 'email us' link. -->
All the best ones will be put up on the site and let us know if you want us to include your name. If you can think of any info about it, or a good title, we may use that too. If you miss the picture (if it refreshes before you can save it) then you can go to http://www.mpservices.demon.co.uk/nestcam**.jpg. Instead of **, write the minute, e.g. http://www.mpservices.demon.co.uk/nestcam40.jpg would be the 40 mins past picture. We save one hour's worth of pictures, i.e. from 00 to 59.
Is something going on?
Sybil is not sitting in the nest. She is standing on the side. The eggs may be hatching.

Eggy facts
We now know that the eggs hatch in 11 - 17 days from being laid (or very soon to you and me) and the chicks leave the nest in 12 - 19 days from hatching.
They should be hatching very soon, around the 20th(tomorrow!!).

Better position
As you can see in this picture of Sybil, we have now changed the position of the camera so the nest is more central. We will inform you if we make any more positional changes.
A little background information!
April 2nd Mum & dad spotted the female blackbird (Sybil) making the nest in a tree thingy (a Pyracantha) outside their bedroom window. April 9th Now we saw Sybil sitting on the nest and decided to set up the nestcam. There are 4 eggs in the nest.
